Refund Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
This Refund Policy explains how billing, cancellations and refunds work for paid Reecorder plans. It applies to purchases you make as a creator through reecorder.com and forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions.
1. Payments and Merchant of Record
Payments for paid Reecorder plans are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. This means Paddle — not Reecorder — is the seller of record for the transaction: it operates the checkout, takes payment, issues your invoice or receipt and processes any refunds. Charges may appear on your statement as “Paddle” or “Paddle.net”. Paddle’s own Buyer Terms also apply to the payment transaction; this Refund Policy sets out how we, Reecorder, approach refunds for our Services.
2. Try before you pay
Reecorder offers a Free plan so you can evaluate the core Service before paying. Because you can test Reecorder at no cost, and because paid plans deliver digital services immediately, paid subscriptions are, as a rule, non-refundable except as set out in this policy or as required by applicable law.
3. Your statutory right of withdrawal (EU/EEA & UK consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or the UK, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract, starting when your subscription begins.
Because Reecorder is a digital service supplied immediately, when you subscribe you ask us to start providing the Service straight away and acknowledge that:
- once the Service has been fully performed, you lose your right of withdrawal; and
- if you withdraw within the 14 days after already using part of the Service, we may charge you a proportionate amount for what you have used up to that point.
Where the right of withdrawal still applies, you can exercise it by contacting us (see “How to request a refund” below). This does not affect any other mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
4. Subscriptions, renewals and cancellations
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund the current billing period, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually) until cancelled. Renewal charges are generally non-refundable — but if you were charged for a renewal you did not intend (for example, you meant to cancel and did not), contact us promptly and we will try to help.
- Annual plans are billed upfront for the year. Cancelling or downgrading part-way through an annual term does not, as a rule, entitle you to a pro-rata refund of the remaining months, except where required by law.
5. Usage-based charges
Some paid features are billed based on what you actually use — for example additional storage or clips. Usage that has already been delivered (storage consumed or clips generated) has been provided and is non-refundable.
6. When we will offer a refund
Even where a charge is otherwise non-refundable, we will normally refund you in cases such as:
- a duplicate or clearly accidental charge;
- being billed after you had already cancelled, where you did not continue to use the paid features; or
- a technical fault on our side that prevented you from using the paid Service for a significant period and that we could not resolve within a reasonable time.
We review other requests case by case and in good faith, in addition to your statutory rights.
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund, email contact@reecorder.com from the email address on your account, including:
- the email address associated with your Reecorder account;
- the Paddle order or receipt number (shown in the receipt email Paddle sent you); and
- a brief description of the reason for your request.
You can also use the “Refund” or contact link in the receipt email Paddle sent you. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.
8. How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are processed by Paddle back to your original payment method. Once approved, a refund is usually initiated within a few business days; how long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider. Refunds are issued in the original currency of the transaction.
9. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us or Paddle first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may lead to your Account being suspended while the dispute is investigated.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. Material changes will be notified via the Website and/or the Services.
