Where your share goes — and why it's a fair deal.
You earn your plan's share of net — from 20% on Free up to 50% on Studio. Net means the lab fee minus payment fees and taxes, nothing else: production costs are never deducted from your split — they're covered by your first 20 licensed hours. Here's what that work involves, how your plan sets your share, and why it's a genuinely good deal for footage that would otherwise sit unused.
What it takes to sell a licence
You upload footage and earn passively. Everything it takes to turn that into a paid AI licence, Reecorder does — production, hosting, finding buyers, the legal work and the risk. None of it is deducted from your share: the program's first 20 licensed hours cover it, and after that the split is clean.
Production
Clipping, annotation, dubbing, format conversion, quality control and dataset packaging — your raw footage becomes a licensable product.
Storage & delivery
Large-scale hosting and delivery of your content and the datasets built from it — running at our expense, not yours.
Legal & compliance
Rights clearance, contracts, consent and privacy, and liability. Reecorder takes on the legal work and risk of licensing to labs.
Finding the buyers
We go to the AI labs, negotiate, close the deal and handle billing — so you don't have to find a single buyer yourself.
Why it's a fair split
It's footage you already own and weren't earning from. You pay nothing, take no risk, and it keeps paying on every renewal — a share of something is infinitely more than 100% of nothing.
Your share follows your plan — 20% on Free, 25% on Starter, 33% on Pro, 50% on Studio. Anyone can be on the top rate tomorrow by upgrading; it never depends on luck, follower counts or an invitation. And the free tooling (recording, clipping, storage) stays free on every plan — that's what your first 20 licensed hours pay for.
Every payout itemises the gross deal value, payment fees and taxes, the net and your share — to the cent. Auditable, not a black box, and no hidden cost deductions.
How your compensation is calculated
Your compensation is your subscription plan's percentage of the Net Licensing Revenue Reecorder receives for your content: 20% (Free), 25% (Starter), 33% (Pro), 50% (Studio), applied at the plan in effect when the revenue is received. Net Licensing Revenue is the gross fee from the AI lab, less payment-processing fees and any taxes or withholdings required by law; the direct costs of processing, storing or hosting your content to make it license-ready are borne by Reecorder and are not deducted. The first 20 licensed hours per creator are used on a cost-covering basis: their proceeds fund the free Reecorder tooling (recording, AI clipping, storage) and the preparation of footage for licensing, and they are remunerated through that tooling rather than a cash share. Cash payouts start at a balance of $50, with smaller balances rolling over or convertible to Reecorder credit at +20% value.
No cost deductions & transparency
Production costs never reduce your payout — the only deductions between the lab fee and the split are payment-processing fees and legally required taxes, itemised in your dashboard on every payout. Nothing here ever creates an out-of-pocket cost to you.
